Dear Chilton Families and Community Members,

Welcome to Chilton Middle School! At CMS, we are on a mission to ignite the potential of the whole child as they navigate the thrilling, fast paced transition from elementary school to high school. Middle school is an absolute whirlwind of growth and discovery, and we absolutely love the vibrant energy that our students bring to campus every single day. Our number one goal is to meet every student exactly where they are and surround them with the individualized support they need to truly thrive. Together, we are focused on building deep relationships rooted in trust, empowering our students to become confident, positive leaders in an ever changing world.

We have lined up an incredible array of opportunities designed to challenge, inspire, and spark curiosity. On the academic front, we dive into a rigorous, state aligned curriculum that gets students thinking big. Our classes feature College Preparatory Mathematics (CPM) to build master problem solvers, alongside dynamic Book Clubs and personalized reading choices in Literacy to foster a lifelong love for stories. In Science and Social Studies, we bring learning to life with hands-on, modern state and NGSS standards. Because we know that genius looks different in everyone, we emphasize multiple creative avenues for students to showcase their knowledge. Plus, our vibrant Related Arts courses perfectly blend with our core academics, giving students unforgettable experiences to develop their unique talents.

But the excitement at CMS extends way beyond the pages of a textbook! We offer a massive lineup of co-curricular activities designed to build unstoppable confidence, teamwork, and leadership. And if you love the stage, our middle school musical productions showcase the incredible artistic talent and heart of our students. Ultimately, the Chilton community is the bedrock of everything we do. We thrive on the energy, engagement, and passion of our families and community partners. Thank you for teaming up with us to make CMS better each and every day!

I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about how you can help our school continue to grow. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime at 920-849-9152 or via email at bertramm@chilton.k12.wi.us in regards to our school. If you would like a personal tour of our facility to see our programs in action, I would gladly set up a time with you. Thank you for your continued support of our students and school.

Best Wishes,
Matt Bertram

The Chilton Middle School will provide students with a variety of developmentally appropriate learning experiences that will promote intellectual, physical, moral, and social-emotional growth in a safe environment. The staff will ensure the academic growth of each student by providing for individual differences. We will provide for their success in a supportive and caring environment, while focusing on each student as a lifelong learner.

CMS Philosophy

We, the staff at the Chilton Middle School, are committed to the belief that transescents are at a unique and critical stage in their growth and development and that the emphasis of our school program should be on helping them to become lifelong learners while keeping in mind their fragile self-concept.

We are progressively utilizing technology to enhance the way we organize our conference times.  This will increase the efficiency of the conferences as a whole and will assist in staff preparation for each individual’s conference time.  With the assistance of many members of our faculty, we have created a system to use this fall.  Using the web service PTCFast, we have created time slots to sign up for individual meeting times. We will not deny a conference to anyone that wants to meet.  If the time slots available do not work with your schedule, please contact the staff member you would like to meet with to schedule a time that works for you on an alternative date. Remember, we maintain open doors throughout the year.  We look forward to having this system assist our scheduling process and alleviate any lines that would have formed or confusion on when to arrive.  We must advise, that if you did not sign up for a slot do not show up that night expecting to have a conference with a staff member.

The link for signing up will be made available on Nov. 1 at 7:00am and will stay open until Nov. 8 at 3:15pm.

The YouTube video created by our Technology Coach Ann Bartel, showcases the process of signing up. If you do not have the internet or a computer at home, we are opening up our computer lab for use on the morning of Nov. 1 from 7:15 – 7:50 AM and in the afternoon on Nov. 4 from 3:15 – 4:00 PM.   These sign up times will be held in the Library, and you will need to sign in at the office.  During this time our Technology Coach will be available to help you navigate your way through the sign-up process.  If you do not have internet available to you at home, you can call our main office to schedule a time.  Watch for emails coming from your grade level teachers, school connect, and district website with the link to our online sign up.  Thank you for your ongoing support.
